Mission Statement

A not-for-profit organization devoted to the encouragement and promotion of the development, production, performance, appreciation and enjoyment of theatre in the City of Mississauga.

Core Programs and Services

The Mississauga Theatre Alliance’s core programs and services include:

Core Values

The Mississauga Theatre Alliance supports and practices the following core values:

  • Diversity: MTA celebrates differences in artistic practices, organizational structure and performance venue. We believe that every theatre makes a contribution to the artform, that every performance develops artistic appreciation, and that we all benefit from one another’s presence.
  • Community: MTA recognizes the power of communities—artists, directors, designers, craftspeople, technicians, arts managers and audience members—to be leaders in developing civic pride through the MTA’s programs
  • Accessibility: MTA recognizes the need for its services, programs, policies and practices—and the theatre community as a whole—to be accessible to all people, including (but not limited to) those facing physical, developmental or financial barriers.
  • Partnerships: Partnering and being actively involved with various stakeholders is fundamental to building a strong theatre community.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: The Board of Directors and Staff of the MTA are committed to being fiscally responsible while sustaining the services and programs that support the Mission of the organization.

Core Objectives

The Mississauga Theatre Alliance works to achieve the following core objectives:

  • To provide a forum for coordinating member plans and activities.
  • To organize common promotions that will enhance the effectiveness and awareness of the members' activities.
  • To promote projects that will develop, enhance and refine the skills of individuals interested in theatre.
  • To present a unified position to those organizations that members depend on for facilities and funding.
